update from Bramble Woods, Catterick
bulb planting
We have certainly hit the ground running in 2023, with a magnificent turn out to our first event of Bulb Planting. It was attended by over 50 members of the community, and over 400 tulip bulbs were planted into amazing pots decorated by the families and friends.
The pots were taken home by the families, and we cant wait to see the pictures in the coming months of the flowers. The event was supported by The Garrison Gathering as part of Half Term Events and we thank them kindly for their help and support.
On site on the day we were visited by Councillor Kevin Foster, and the Garrison Sergeant Major. We also managed to get some amazing aerial footage of the site from drone pilot, Wayne Kenyon from @DronescApe. Wayne has done this for free, so big thanks to him and watch out for the footage!
We received great feedback for families on the day and yielded a list of willing volunteers!
donations
We have also taken custody of a new bench, kindly donated from Richmond Council, and built by Hunters Landscapes.
We have received a donation of over 700 bulbs (snowdrops, blue bells and fritalata) for our woodland from Ravensworth Nurseries, which will be planted in the woodland in the coming months by mini volunteers from Richmondshire Home Education Group.
Many thanks to those who have continually shown support.
